Translation Update

In March 2015, the Romans project was being translated into five languages simultaneously: Nigerian, Ethiopia, Rwandan, French and Swahili. Each were being worked on by pastors from each of the respective countries. The process was being headed up by Marshall Brown.

The men have expressed several times their enthusiasm for translating these sessions from the book of Romans. The clear message of the gospel of God is powerful and relevant for every tribe, tongue, people, and nation. As I am learning, Africans have a strong tradition for oral learning. Thus, having these sermons from Romans translated into various African languages and loaded onto mp3 players is truly a valuable tool both for reaching people with the gospel of Christ and for building up local congregations of believers in the gospel of Christ. Please pray for Bonheur, Dan, and Wakshuma that they will remain physically healthy and in a good frame of mind to continue translating. Pray that they would be constantly filled and led by the Holy Spirit to correctly understand the content of the messages and to accurately convey that in their own languages. Pray also that we would maintain good relationships so as to encourage one another in the work and to be a blessing to others around us.

Translations Continue

The Romans Project expanded the translations into five more languages: Amharic, Oromo, Kinyarwanda, Hausa and Kiswahili. Here is a letter to Marshall Brown from Edwin Buwule a translator:

Hello Marshall,
I need to tell you that my engagement in the translation of Romans has not left me the same spiritually! It has absolutely sharpened my spiritual parameters, let alone widening my in depth understanding of Paul’s message in the book of Romans! I have since began to speak with courage and knowledge on what Paul intended for us as believers to know wholly as children of God! That indeed gives me much joy and happiness! So if it does that to me, how much more for the many other pastors that will partake of that awesome expository message! I would therefore like to register my willingness and presence in January to do the translations on the expositions on the book of Luke! I have actually began to soak into it from a translation perspective and I believe I will be ready come Jan 31st 2016! Thank you again for considering us for this project! I am with all gratitude looking forward to meeting and working with you on this Marshall! May God truly bless you!
